The accident took place Tuesday morning in the Choum Chao commune, in the district of Porsen Chey.
The victim was identified as Mom Mev, 58, from the village of Ampil Teabb, in the commune of Romdeng, in Prey Veng’s Mesang district. He is survived by his wife, Khat Soun, 51.
An eyewitness said, the truck driver was arrested while he was trying to flee the scene of the accident after striking the victim. Mom Mev sustained a broken back and died from his injuries at the scene.
