For the last few years, Nokia was the top mobile phone amongst other mobile phone used by Cambodian users. For instance, Samsung, LG, Sony, Chinese phone, Hong Kong phone, and Indonesia phone. Many users said that Nokia phone is good because its battery is last long, programs are fast, and it has sufficient features to meet their needs. Yet, technology has rapidly changing, leading Nokia drops its popularity while there are a few mobile phones entering to Cambodia market.



Chinese and Hong mobile phones have been appearing dramatically in Cambodia with the cheapest price and more features equipped. Not only that, the phones are also named as the same as the original mobile phones names such as Nokia, HTC or Sony. The beautiful shape, lower price and features have designed to attack the low income users. As Cambodia is the developing country then the people who are considered as lower class like the phone or not they have to buy because the phone are affordable based on their income. Seeing this gold opportunity, Chinese and Hong Kong phone on sale in Cambodia, and noticeably they have being earning a lot of profits from selling phone and phone’s accessories.


Moreover, currently Samsung and Apple, particularly iPhone phone family and Samsung Galaxy become very popular for middle and high class income. However, Samsung is more like to be popular amongst youth and new generation. iPhone is more popular for high income user or users age from 25 years old up.


After all, the Cambodian users have been tending to use Samsung and iPhone rather than Nokia for middle and high class users while the lower class users are wishing to use Chinese and Hong Phone. In your point of view, do you think that Cambodian phone users will turn to use Nokia more? Why?
